Name: Salamander
Scientific name: Salamandridae
Range: Northern Hemisphere
Habitat: Mountainous regions with a temperate mist climate
Status: Not threatened 
Diet in the wild:bugs, and moths
Diet in the zoo: bugs and crickets
 
Physical description: teeth in both jaws and two rows of teeth in the roof of the mouth in two wavy rows, lungs are present. Tail is not longer than the combined head and trunk. Fett 4 or 5 toes.
 
General information

Very docile creatures. Scarry to look at.

 
Special anatomical, physiological or behavioral adaptations:

Slimy, soft skin, may have 5 toes.

 
Comments about the lions of the Fort Worth Zoo.

They are not one of the highlights of the zoo and they could be good pets. Harmeless. 

 
Personal Observations

Lazy, do not move much.
